My Parents

....and how could I forget to give a shout out to the most important people in my life, my parents!!  In these pictures I'm only 2 days old!

My big Sister

Meet Penny. She's my big sister.  She watches over me everyday while I nap and even brings me a bottle sometimes! During the day, my mom takes us on walks and Penny shows me all of her favorite spots in the neighborhood.  I like meeting all of her friends...the rabbits and birds in the bay behind our house. Except I never get a good view because they always seem to run away from us. Are they really her friends?

And for all of you who are wondering, Penny is not allowed to sleep in my bassinet.

Meet the Family!

Happy Birthday, Mommy! Yup, Sara was due on Maria's birthday, but she decided to come a day early so that they could each have their own birthday to celebrate. Sara, already a conscientious baby!

Our first night, was a long night to say the least.  Apparently, there is no instruction manual that comes with your new baby. The nurse gave her a bath, gave us some swaddling instructions, asked if we needed anything else and left us with our new little girl.

OK, well maybe she told us a few other things, but not much.  Without much sleep and a lot of determination (a.k.a. bouncing, shushing, swaddling, swinging) we managed to find a way to get Sara to sleep.  She awoke that morning ready to meet some of her biggest fans!

THE GREAT GRANDPARENTS

Sara is a VERY lucky girl. she has the rare opportunity to meet her great grandparents.  She has not one but TWO sets of great grandparents.  One set of great grandparents is Great Grandma Julia & Great Grandpa Izzy.  His name is really Isabel which is where Sara got her middle name. They live really close so they were at the hospital to hold her when she woke up from her nap.

Unfortunately Great Grandma Charlotte & Great Grandpa Ralph live in North Carolina and were not able to see her when she woke up. Sara told us that she can't wait to meet them. She only got to hear their voices during Christmas and the days leading up to the new year.

THE GRANDPARENTS

Sara also has two wonderful sets of grandparents who love her very very much. With all of these new people to get to know we have tried to make it as easy as possible for Sara.
One set of grandparents lives in San Diego. Sara calls them Avi and Abuela.  Abuela is grandma in Spanish.  Abuela is from Ecuador & can't help but smile at Sara all the time.  She loves to sing to her in Spanish.

Avi means Grandpa in Catalan. Avi sings to Sara as well, but he sings songs in Catalan!  On this occasion Sara was trying to sing along but all she could manage was to copy the face he was making.

...and Sara's second set of grandparents live in Newport Beach. Grandma Karen and Grandpa Mark love to come over and rock her to sleep whenever they get the chance.
Sara loves falling asleep in their arms!

Here I am! My name is Sara Isabel Jordan.

I know how to party on a Saturday night! And we all know that a party for one isn't that fun. So, my mom gave me the push I needed and, before I knew it, I was screaming at the top of my lungs....screaming for joy to finally join the party with all of you!

My Mom and Dad were so overjoyed to see me. I could tell they loved me a lot from the moment our eyes met. They made sure the doctor checked my weight, my heartbeat and they even wrapped me up tight in a warm blanket...very comfy cozy! And the best part was that I got to lay with my Mom for my first nap and feeding.  My Dad, he was busy documenting everything and letting all our friends and family know that I had arrived.

Getting ready for my first cry...

As I watched my Dad frantically text everyone pictures of me, I wondered why he didn't just post a picture to his Facebook account and call it a day. Well, that's because my Mom & Dad are some of the only people left on Earth who don't have a Facebook account.  They're very old fashioned and like to communicate with people the "old" way.

To bring them into the new century, I asked them to keep track of my life and share it with all our friends and family. So here we go...our family blog "Mom, Dad & Sara Isabel".

Stay tuned to find out how I will change my parents' lives forever!
