My Summertime Activities

I wanted to spend this post sharing some of the summertime activities I've been doing the past couple of months while Mom and I were on vacation.

I know that it is important to get exercise each day so I joined a gym! This place is awesome. My gym teacher lets us swing, jump, dance, and climb.....but, swinging is my favorite!

I also attended an art class once a week. I wasn't too crazy about this class. I was more interested in the playground that I could see outside the window, but I humored Mom by pretending to do some art.

Did you know that I am part fish? Well, to be honest with you, in case you were wondering, I am a mermaid. Therefore, of my favorite things to do is swim. I was so excited when Mom and Dad took me to swim classes this year. I was ready to get my fins wet and show the teacher how much I had learned since last summer!

And one of the most exciting parts of my vacation was going to the fair with my friend, Amelia and her parents.  I pet the farm animals and ate some delicious food, like this maple bacon doughnut for instance.

....and I also showed off my stroller-driving skills.

When I wasn't out doing all these fun activities, I was at home....taking Avi for a walk.

How long do I have to wait until summer vacation again?

My Trip to Emerald City

A week ago, Mom and Dad put me on another airplane and we headed off to Seattle! (And, just for the record, I was on my best behavior on the plane ride there and back)

As soon as we arrived, I was ready to see this town. The stroller was too confining, I needed to do the sightseeing on my own.

From the smell in the air, I could tell we were close to the ocean...close to sea life!

Lately, I've been reading about sea animals and so it only made sense to me to see some animals, alive, in their natural habitat.

Okay, so this is as close as Mom and Dad would let me get to sea life, but it was better than nothing. We spent the day at the Seattle Aquarium where I got to see an octopus, sea horses, otters, seals, tons of colorful fish, and touch starfish and sea anemones. It was so cool!!

Here I am trying to find my good friend. He was a little shy.
Hi Nemo!

Be honest....the shark mask looks WAY better on me, right?

And after seeing all that beautiful sea life, my parents thought it would be a good idea to traumatize me by visiting THIS place...

....apparently tourists enjoy watching the men throw frozen dead fish around. I wanted nothing to do with this mass murder of my sea friends.

On a happier note...one of my favorite parts of the trip was going on a giant ferris wheel that overlooked the city.

Not only did I get a great view of the ocean and the birds, but I was able to ride with 2 of my favorite people who live in Seattle...Uncle Matt and his girlfriend, Meghan.

They let us stay at their house and they knew where all the best places to visit were located. Thanks guys!

Have I told you how much I LOVE eating snacks while on a ferris wheel?

On our last day in Seattle,
it was hot and sunny and a perfect day to visit some tidepools on Alki Beach.

I got to touch a star fish!!
(Notice my 1 finger touch. I was very gentle with this little guy)

I guess you could say I was pretty excited to discover this little town of sea anemones

What do you mean he's not real?

Thanks, Seattle for letting me enjoy all your sea life. I'll be back soon..(as soon as I can figure out how to get myself to an airport)
