Bathtime for Hipsters

This is how all the cool kids (should) take a bath.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am a trendsetter.

The City of Brotherly Love

Two weeks ago Mom and Dad thought it would be a great idea to get on a plane and head out to Philadelphia for a little vacation.   They were right about about the vacation, VERY wrong about putting a 1.5 year old on a plane.

I won't bore you with the details of my journey across the country. Let's just say that I was "all done" with the trip just as we were finding our seats on the airplane in Los Angeles and my parents forgot to mention to me that I would be stuck in this seat for the next 5 hours.

The fun began as soon as we landed! Not only was I relieved to stretch my legs, but I was excited to see my cousin, Mateo, Tia Montse, and Tio Tom.

First of all, Philly is a super hot city in the summertime. So Mateo showed me some of the ways city kids cool down...you unplug a fire hydrant...in the middle of the street! I was feeling a little more cautious, but enjoyed this experience nonetheless.

Next, Mateo took me the "water park" downtown. This was more my style. After the whole fire hydrant activity, I wasn't scared at all.

Being in one of the nation's most historic cities, Mom thought it would be a good idea to get me started on a little lesson in American history. She kept talking about some "declaration" and how people fought for independence. All I knew, was that I wanted to declare my freedom from the hot stroller and run free on the huge green lawns that were EVERYWHERE!! (For all you history buffs, that's Independence Hall behind us)

Mom and Dad also thought it would be a good idea to introduce Mateo and I to some pretty interesting and influential men. Mateo had a little chat with this smart guy. I think he said his name was Ben. I, on the other hand, met a man named James Madison whose stunning good looks won me over immediately.

And the fun didn't stop there!

Midway through our trip, Mom and Dad strapped me in the car and we headed to Brooklyn to visit some friends.

During this visit, Mom and Dad took me to the most giant pool I had ever seen in my life!!

 Amazing, right?!!!

Problem was....I couldn't figure out how to get inside.

I have to be honest, Mom and Dad kept telling me that it was not a pool, but that it was the 9/11 Memorial.
(I still wanted to jump in somehow)

The end of my trip was spent showing Mateo all the things I could do.

I showed him how easy it is to drive a boat and I read him one of my favorite books. He was very impressed...I think.

I am going to miss this fun city. But most of all, I am going to miss my favorite cousin, Mateo.

Hmm...Do you think I could rename it "The City of Cousinly Love"?
