BREAKING NEWS...

Since I'm a mature 6 month old now, I can do a lot of things those little babies can't do. For instance, the other day, I asked my Mom and Dad to give me some privacy while I caught up on some current events.

....And those of you who have been following the news lately know that there has been A LOT to report. But, did you hear about the precocious little monkey who escaped and is running loose at the zoo?  Yep, it's true. Tune in to any news station and you'll see the melee happening live.

They asked Mr. Penguin if they had seen this little monkey. Apparently, he said that he had seen him disguised as a flamingo.

Tricky monkey, right?

Ha ha! That monkey tricked everyone. The only thing they found at the flamingo exhibit were a bunch of flamingos and some shrimp.

Shrimp?

Hmm....where could that monkey have gone?

Hey you, I thought I said no cameras allowed while I am reading!

I wonder if I am old enough to have a pet monkey. I would sure love to find him and take him home with me. Just thinking of all the tricks we could play on my parents gets me really excited!

New Dress

This is my Mom's second creation for me....a dress! I love the nautical theme. It's great for summer, but she says I have to wait until I am a little bigger until I can wear it.    :(

For now, I'll just admire it from afar and wonder why she made a dress that's too big for me.   Hmmm.....Maybe next summer it'll fit me!

Thanks, Mom!

Happy Half-Birthday To Me!

Sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy a half birthday. I mean really, they only happen once a year!

So to celebrate my first 6 months in this world, my parents surprised me with my first banana cake. I figured out that it's more fun to play with bananas than eat them.

Mi Familia de España

I love meeting new family members, and this week I was able to do just that!

This is my cousin, Ona. We just met, but we get along really well. Here, she is telling me all the best secrets of being a 5 year old. I took mental notes.

I decided to show my relatives (Mom's Aunt Nuria and Uncle Felix) around town. We walked around the Balboa Peninsula, then we took a ferry to Balboa Island. After all that walking we took a break to eat some frozen bananas. My mom said I had to wait until my teeth arrived to eat one of those.

Happy 4th of July!!

Even though fireworks aren't allowed in my part of town, who really needs them when you got a little firecracker like me?

 .....or me?

(this is Mateo, my cousin. He's 4 years old now. Thanks for the shirt!)

Palm Springs

A week after Father's Day, Mom and Dad decided it was time to go on a little weekend getaway.  We packed up the car and headed east. As I looked out the car window all I saw was barren land and these giant fans....
....and all I felt was hot and sweaty. I began to question our little roadtrip. I wondered if my Mom and Dad were still suffering from new-parent delirium and were driving me into the middle of nowhere by accident.

Before I knew it, we had arrived in Palm Springs, a desert oasis if you will. We checked into our hotel, threw on our bathing suits and....had a photo shoot, of course!

(you like my new bathing suit?!)

We also walked around town and we ran into this giant. She seemed nice enough.
I'm just happy that she didn't try to eat me.

Better late than never!

Sorry for the lull in blog posts, my editor took a 2 week vacation....but he/she is back now, so I'll have to catch you up on all the fun things I've been up to!

On June  17, we celebrated Father's Day by going over to my Grandpa Mark's and Grandma Karen's house. My Mom and Dad took me swimming and I got to see my Uncle Matthew and meet his girlfriend's family too. I also got to see my great grandparents and Great Uncle Gary and his family. But the best part of the day was getting to spend time with the most important man in my life, my Dad. I made him something special at school to show him how much I love him. Check it out...
